Conditions for membership
You have to be 18 years or older to subscribe to Tango42.

Subscriptions
Until later notice Tango42 is completely free for you to use.
For a more extensive explanation about this, see the information under the 'My Subcriptions' button.

Privacy
All of your personal information is saved securely, personal details are not accessible by any third party and will not be used or exchanged with a third party.

Welcome at Tango42
So, you have entered the site, now you can take out a Free Membership by clicking the 'SIGN UP FOR FREE' button. Pretty obvious, isn't it? Then we will send you a mail with a confirmation-link, which will activate your account. So don't forget to do that! (This confirms your email-address to us and shows that you are for real). Now you may continue and fill out your profile.

Your Profile
Tango42 offers you the choice to determine yourself, which categories and questions will appear in your profile.
When you fill out your profile for the first time, we suggest that you check all the categories, so you can view all of them before making a choice on what you do and don't want to fill out.
Only the questions you fill in, will appear in your profile, the remainder is invisible! Please do note, the more you fill out, the more precise your profile, the bigger chances are that someone who really likes you will react.
While filling out your profile, you'll encounter several free textfields. This is a concious choice by Tango42, so you can make your profile very personal.
You also have four free textfields at your disposal, where you can fill in lots about yourself. Next to these, you can put pictures that can accompany your stories, but that isn't necessarry, It's up to you, to make your profile as exciting and catchy as possible and to do so, we give you every opportunity.

Photo's
You may add up to five photo's at Tango42. Make sure that the first picture next to 'Personal', always is a recent portrait of yourself, so you will be clearly visible in the motiongallery at the bottom of the page. So, no photo of you somewhere (only clearly regonizable with binoculars) next to a pyramid or any other landmark. When you don't submit a photo, you will not appear in the motiongallery and thus get less response.
The other four pictures can be of any subject, so let your fantasy run wild and do surprise us with stunning pic's. Show us anything, from your tattoo to your favorite work of art, unless it's fitting in your profile and not indecent, insulting, solliciting and/or of propagandistic nature. Take note: We will allow tasteful eroticism, when you feel like it, but porn wil be disapproved.

Category order
Once you have finished your profile, you may check it. Now you can change the order of the categories by using the up and down buttons in your profile, with every click, it will move one position up and down. For instance, if sports are very important to you, you can show this by moving this to the top of your profile. This way you control what the others read about you first or last.

Quote of the Day
Tango42 offers you the possibility to put a 'Quote of the Day' at the top of your profile. This way you mat draw more attention to yourself.
It can be your favorite motto, but also be a call to other Members to join you in a fun activity, e.g. going to the movies and/or a request for an item you're looking for. It is obvious that phone-numbers, email-addresses or any other private information or obnoxious language will be refused.

Aproval
In order to maintain the quality of our site, all free fields, photo's and the quote of the day need approval by Tango42.
When we find something intolerable, we will notify you by email and ask you to submit an alternative.

Searchprofile
In order to save time, you can fill out your own and your searchprofile at the same time. Note that your searchprofile is only visible to you, no one else can see it!.
So you can very accurately compose your searchprofile. And again; the more you fill out, the more precise your matches will be.

Quicksearch/Keywords
Upperleft you will find a window that provides quicksearches.
In the 'keyword' bar you can enter the name of a Member, but also key-words like; holiday, champagne, tiger, sexy, Africa, art, handsome, tall, skiing, beach, etc. Our search engine will pull up any profile that contains these words. So, if you are looking for someone to drink champagne with, or someone that shares your interest in Africa, you will find them quickly.

Contacting other members
As a Free Member you may send vitual cards and a wide variety of standard messages.
As a Full Member you can also send unlimited messages to ohter members through the message-field at the bottom of your workscreen. This message-field (only Full Members) will appear, when you're viewing a profile.
If you see someone intteresting in our motiongallery, just click on it, or go to 'Quicksearch' or 'Quickdate' for a more extended search. You can send a message to any profile you select. Click on 'the pigeon symbol' to send your text. Once sent, a blinking envelope in his or hers contactlist will appear. By clicking on it, the message can be read.

Buttons
Tango42 uses easy and recognizable buttons wich allow you a quick access to all the possibilities of the site. Below an overview of the buttons you will find on-screen;

Chatbox
To enter our chatbox, just click on te 'Chat' button.
After accepting the conditions to use the chat, you may immediatelly chat with the members who are on-line and are in the chatbox.
You can have a private chat by clicking the 'Private' button, this way your conversation can not be read by other chatters. Please have the courtesy to ask the other member, if he/she is accepting your invitation to the private chat.

Home
Takes you to the home-page straight away.

Log out
By clicking the 'Log Out' button you log yourself out. To continue you have to sign in again.

Quickdate
By selecting this option, you can give a more targeted or extended search-instruction, without having to alter your entire search-profile.

Show my Matches
When you click this button, our search-engine will display your matches, according to your searchprofile.

My Profile
By clicking this button, you can view your profile like other Members will. If you did change a free text field or picture, these will not be visible to other Members untill they are approved. As soon as they are approved by us, they will show up to the Membership. When viewing your profile, you will also see the 'up' and 'down' icons at each category, that allow you to move each category's position. This way you determine what others will read first, when looking at your profile.

Change My Profile
You can alter your profile at any given moment, by clicking this button. Please note that when you change free fields and/or submit new pictures, these have to be approved first before appearing.

Quote Of The Day
Clicking this, allows you to submit or change your 'Quote of the Day'. This shows up on top of your profile as well as your mini-profile (which is shown as a result of a search-command). This is therefor the first item other Members read about you. Suggestions and a more complete explanation are provided when you select this button.

Virtual Cards
When selecting this you have a choice from various text-messages and virtual cards, that you as a Frre or Full Member can send to the one you are interested in.

My Subscriptions
Here you'll find all the information on your current subscription and buy new ones.

My Settings
Here you can set whether you want ro receive email-notifications, our newsletter and/or if you want to hide your profile. Also you may unsubscribe, change your username, your password and choose the theme you want to add to your profile (Full Members only).

My Contactlist
By selecting a profile and then clicking the 'Add to Contactlist', you promote someone to your Favorite and thus will appear in your contactlist with a 'heart' icon. Clicking the 'crosslet' will remove this Member from your contactlist.

History
While viewing a Members profile and then clicking the 'History' button, you can see the complete history of conversation with this particular Member.
Tip; when you did receive al long message from another Member, it's more convenient to read this in the 'History' after opening the message, because of the larger space.

Block
By watching a profile and then clicking the 'Block' button, you will block any communication by that Member.

Unblock
When you have blocked a Member, an 'Unblock' button will appear instead of the 'Block' button, when you are viewing his or her profile.
Clicking this, will allow the Member to have contact with you again.

Inbox
Selecting this button, allows you to see all the messages that have been sent to you. Checking these enables you to remove these.

Outbox
Selecting this button, allows you to see all the messages that you have sent. Checking these enables you to remove these.

PROBLEMS!
Here we provide advice for the most common problems. At the bottom of the page you have the possibility to send us an email with your problem. This will have first priority and we will do everything to help you out as soon as possible. If the problem is concerning another Member, just click his or her profile and then the 'PROBLEMS!' button, your email-complaint will be directly related to the Member concerned.

RSS; the possibilities
RSS -Real Simple Syndication- is whar is called a 'feed'. It feeds the latest news, a podcast or in the case of Tango42 the latest addition to the weblog.
You will need a 'newsreader' or an 'aggregator'. Small applicarions that read the RSS. Drag the RSS-link into the program or 'copy and paste' the link into one, and the latest blog-article will appear as soon as it written.
Some examples of readers are 'Sharpreader' or 'RSSBandit' for Windows or 'Amphetadesk' for the Mac.
There are also extensions available for Outlook Express, Hotmail, various browsers or you can view them on-line with e.g. 'Bloglines'
Besides our latest articles, you can subscribe to thousands of feeds, including CNN, BBC news and almost any weblog.
